As advised previously the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has implemented the compulsory fumigation of containers ex Italy that arrive in Australia between the 17^th January and the 30^th April. This sudden increase in the number of containers requiring fumigation has caused delays of between 7 and 14 days depending upon the depot. We recommend that all containers ex Italy should be fumigated at origin in order to avoid delays at destination
