VESSEL DELAYS TO/FROM AUSTRALIA
We wish to advise our valued customers that shipping/vessel delays are expected to continue as communicated in our previous Newsletter of August 2020.
Delays due to congestion currently at the terminals, bad weather which is impacting vessel schedules from Asia to Australia, are resulting in shipping lines making the decisions to omit some Australian ports and rolling existing bookings over in order to catch up with their sailing schedules.
Blank sailings due to market demand reductions, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in some areas has also impacted the supply chain.
These change of schedules are currently impacting our export sea freight bookings with carriers/lines at very short notice.
In addition to shift and overtime restrictions at all ports which are already in place, the MUA have announced scheduled Protected Industrial Action at Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane over the coming weeks which will also impact already delayed vessel operations inside the terminals.
We will continue to advise our valued client’s affected directly as information comes to hand.
